'Mod cons'

Of course, the Romahome HyLo has all mod-cons
- and ours has more than most!

This Romahome has been specifically upgraded to allow for longer trips away with complete independence including off-grid at any time of year without having to rely on campsites or an electrical hook-up.

Upgrades include:
  • 2 x 100W solar panels - generate you own power while parked
  • 30A solar controller which has spare capacity for a further 100W solar panel if desired
  • A large 130Ah capacity leisure battery to replace the 78Ah original
  • 4 x 12V power sockets to run a 12V mini compressor freezer while also charging other electrical gadgets including laptops, cameras, tablets and Kindles.
  • Fiamma roof vent for additional ventilation without having to raise the roof and when the motorhome is unattended

The HyLo has 2KW diesel blown air heating along with a cool fan and air conditioning in the cab to ensure comfort whatever the outside temperature.  Further, the body is insulated and has double-glazing complemented with heat-reflective window blinds, secure night vent catches and fly screens to keep unwelcome insects out.

New LED lighting ensures the ultimate economy and the motorhome's power can be monitored via the 'Zig' unit showing battery levels while the solar controller shows how much free power the two solar panels are generating.  Power is also generated via the split-charger while the engine is running an there is a hook-up point for connecting to a mains power supply.

For independence, particularly while campsite facilities are closed due to Covid-19, a Porta Potti chemical toilet can be stored and used in the designated locker behind the passenger seat, placed between the aisles or in the kitchen footwell.  While in the aisle the bed cushions can be laid over it with no need to move the Porta Potti in order to set up the King size bed.  When the beds are used as singles, there is full access to it.
Two lashing points have been fitted to the floor to enable a porta potti, or similar, to be safely secured to the floor to ensure it remains stable in the event of an emergency stop or accident.
